After more than ten years at our current location in the East-West industrial area, we are about to relocate our head office to the Wörnersangewand industrial park in Haueneberstein just a few miles away. This relocation has become necessary in order to continue on our growth path, which has resulted in a lack of space at our current location. In the middle of 2019, our workforce of more than one hundred employees will be able to move into the new building. With three times more production space and twice as much office space, the new location will provide enough space for further growth. One in four employees has already been working for termotek for 10 years or more. Consistent employee orientation and great team spirit – this is our formula for success! This is also why our employees were already involved in the planning of the new building at an early stage and were able to contribute their ideas.
The new building will be perfectly adapted to the requirements of our company. The concept is based on two basic criteria: Creating a perfect information environment and enabling smooth workflows. To fulfil the first criterion, employees from all corporate areas were involved in order to make sure that frequently used, interdisciplinary communication paths are taken into consideration. Multi-function offices based on an open structure are ideal for sharing information and encouraging communication between each other. Additional, flexible “communication corners” provide space for in-depth discussions. Furthermore, the office building is fully air-conditioned, providing a pleasant interior climate all year long, even at extremely high or low outside temperatures.
A comfortable seating area, a small patio and a “coffee corner” will be available for break times. The transparent interior design of the entire building provides a bright and pleasant atmosphere. The social rooms are equipped with a sufficiently large number of lockers and shower cubicles.
The integration of new manufacturing strategies helps us to ensure our long-term competitiveness. This includes optimised production workflows, the improved, smooth flow of materials and shorter throughput times. In line with the “lean production” principle, we will streamline our production process. This is a key prerequisite for termotek to strengthen its competitiveness and live up to its ambition of being a leading technology provider in the field of compact liquid cooling systems. Thanks to this corporate setup, we are well prepared as a global player.
We take our responsibility towards the environment and society very seriously and have consciously decided to pull all levers to secure a sustainable future. Thanks to our comprehensive energy concept, termotek will be able to use its resources much more efficiently in future. The energy efficiency of our new building is a prime example: It complies with the German KfW 55 standard for energy-efficient buildings. Thanks to the smooth combination of a water-water heat pump with heat exchanger, floor collectors and a cistern, energy can be distributed to where it is needed; unused energy is transmitted to an energy storage system. To give an example: The hot water required for inspecting the cooling devices is stored and used for building climate control depending on specific needs. Furthermore, unused heat can be absorbed from the environment in order to use it for the inspection process. This sophisticated concept saves 424 tons of CO₂ per year, corresponding to the power and heating energy demand of approximately 170 four-person households!
The new location is not only close to the B3 main road and the A5 motorway (Basel/Frankfurt). It can also be easily accessed by public transport: The nearest light rail station (“S-Bahnhof”) is just about 400 metres away!
Furthermore, our new location in Haueneberstein provides sufficient parking space for both motor vehicles and bicycles. Charging stations for e-cars will be installed in the near future.
